Healing Hands by Lani proudly supports the L.A. Clippers on the road and at home, working with the athletes and other medical staff to optimize player's performance on the court. Lani Hennessey, the owner of Healing Hands, has trained a team of Massage Therapists who can travel to your home or office to help accommodate your schedule. Spending time training the team at Healing Hands has provided continuity in accessing and treating musculoskeletal imbalances, whether you see Lani or one of the staff.
As a practicing massage therapist of 22 years I bring a unique approach to each massage I give. I practice many different modalities of massage and make it a priority in my career to continue my education. The love of my profession and being able to effect positive changes for my clients keeps me enthusiastic about my work.
I was a massage instructor for over 15 years which has also made me adept at explaining to clients what is happening in their bodies and how their daily routines directly effect the posture and balance in the body's muscular system.
I have found the adage “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” to be most beneficial with chronic pain relief. Most often imbalances are caused by repetitive motion injuries whether from exercise or lack of exercise. Giving a client the simple advice of placing their head against the head rest in the car while driving can be many times more successful at relieving neck pain than a neck massage.
I practice therapeutic massage which can be uncomfortable especially if it is your first experience with Deep Tissue work. I communicate with my client about what they should be feeling and make sure I am working to their comfort level. A massage with me as your therapist is an educational experience for your muscles as well as your mind.
I combine several modalities into each massage to treat the client with a holistic approach. Reminding the mind, body and spirit of it’s unending connection through Tensegrity and CranioSacral can soothe stress held in the muscles and joints and renew the feelings of coordinated movement.
